CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Hanson Galleries has invited HMAG members to do a joint show with ClayHouston during American Craft Week. Our 2010 show with Hanson Galleries was very successful. As we visted with Donna Milstein and her staff, they told us that color really speaks to their customers. Suggested themes: asymmetric design; different or unique; emotional; dramatic; sculptural pieces; storytelling. Pieces do not have to be jewelry. Hanson Galleries customers like containers, wall art and pieces with dynamic design. This show is the perfect opportunity to be very creative with your work.

We hope to see you there! Come with your questions about submitting your work to the show!
| BY THE WAY: Are you working on something fantastic for Hanson’s show in Fall!? The theme is Kaliedescope/Color – Think beyond wearables: ex. - box or object, – (But don’t let these themes limit you if you want to make wearables or items without color.)
· We need good photographs of your most fantastic pieces for publicity purposes by mid-July. |
Time to start thinking and working on pieces for the upcoming Hanson Galleries Show on October 7th, 2011. As last year, the show coincides with Craft Week. Think in terms of COLOR- a kaleidoscope of colors. Jurors are looking for pieces with dynamic designs. The work certainly does not have to be jewelry. It could be containers or wall art or even something started some time ago and is begging to be completed. Stretch your imagination!!
We need photos by July for the postcard. If you have a special piece ready to submit, please contact me to discuss using it in the postcard. Further information about details and dates will be forthcoming. The show should be well attended so make plans for your submissions. Each participant may enter a maximum of 8 items.
