I have a B.A. in sculpture from the University of new Orleans. Since 2010 I have been studying metalsmithing at Lone Star College with Martha Ferguson.

Mary Jarvis is an award-winning beadmaker and studio jeweler in Spring, Texas. She has a B.A. from The University of Mississippi in Graphic Design. She designed publications for The University of Mississippi and WKNO-TV in Memphis, Tennessee. After attending a workshop, she began making glass beads and jewelry. In 2001 she began working as a full time jewerly artist out of her studio.

I'm inspired by walks in the woods; by flowers in my garden. I love rich pattern, ornate ethnic textiles and symbolic tribal adornment. Extensive travel, as well as living many years in Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Colombia, has also influenced my aesthetic.

My life’s path is that of a goldsmith, a path of over 35 years. I love creating wearable works of art. I can sit still for hours, blissfully focused bending, soldering and filling a half of millimeter of gold to get a perfect fit.
