About

Join us on March 3rd for a virtual artist talk with Marlene True!  Marlene  is an obsessive collector of tin cans. Sharing her enthusiasm for working with repurposed materials, Marlene enjoys teaching. As a guest artist, she has taught at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Penland School of Crafts, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft, Peters Valley, and West Dean College in the UK. Marlene earned her MFA at East Carolina University and her BFA at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.   Her work is part of the National Ornamental Metal Museum collection in Memphis, TN, the Museum of Arts and Design in New York, The Racine Museum of Art in Racine, Wisconsin, and the Enamel Arts Foundation in Los Angeles, CA. Marlene volunteers and has served on the Board of Directors for the Society of North American Goldsmiths. She is committed to craft education and is the Executive Director of Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft in Columbia, NC.

Our program will begin with Marlene presenting her artist talk, and we will follow with a Q&A session.  Please email Jessica to request the Zoom invite, at hmagpres@gmail.com.
