About

Come out and join us for an exciting artist talk by Rene Henry! Rene’s artwork focuses on abandoned architectural structures, where she reinterprets these spaces through the more intimate and precious scale of jewelry. Her work integrates experimental processes and materials with traditional metalsmithing and fabrication. Rene has developed a strong signature aesthetic in her work, and every component of her jewelry is carefully considered to be functional but also enhance the artwork’s design.

Rene Henry holds a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Design from San Diego State University (2013). Following her degree, she relocated to Houston, Texas, for an artist residency at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. Rene currently maintains a studio practice where she produces limited-edition jewelry as well as one-of-a-kind sculptural pieces. She has instructed jewelry-making workshops for the past nine years and her work has been featured in national and international exhibitions and publications.
