Description
Anyone can buy a prefab chain. If you want to create something that is more than a pendant hanger, this is your workshop! In this class, you will learn ways of approaching necklace design as a cohesive whole, where the chain is an integral component, contributing to the overall aesthetic and concept of the piece.
Participants will be asked to bring a finished or in-progress pendant to develop ideas around. We will discuss ways of pulling elements from a pendant or focal point to create a unique chain that compliments your work.
On Day 1, your instructor will give a short presentation with design inspirations and will demo a few chain-making techniques using a link shaping jig as well as shape improvising with things you might find in your studio. After that, you will have studio time to get started on your designs.

If you need to eat lunch before 2:00, please bring a bag lunch and you may take a break as needed. Parking is included and available in the grass lot to the right of Charisma Design Studio, along the fence. Materials will be provided (for working in brass).
